Time for bed

Every night after the night time routine is done Daddy yells "assume the position" and the girls quickly drop to the ground legs up in the air ready to be scooped up by Daddy and placed into bed upside down. We are thankful for our fun Daddy.
Baby seems to find it too much work to lift her legs though. :)
She is also the only one of our girls who at this age seems to be always getting her legs stuck in the crib.

Can't wait to learn

Picnic in Gilead

After the guys finished with the sacrifice we got packed up and headed about 40 min away from our home to the hills of Gilead. A beautiful place where David once walked. I felt like I was standing in a bible story book...rolling rocky hills with roaming sheep and the odd large tree. We enjoyed a few hrs under one of those trees. The Sheep were fun to watch as they got closer and closer to our picnic. We have enjoyed having a few days off with this Eid break. So nice to spend time with good friends in a land with rich beauty.

After this we went to a near by paintballing place. Funny only in the Middle East can you see such historic biblical spots then run and do paintballing. :) My guy is on the far right with the scary 'I'm gonna get you face'. The one and only time he ever wears that kind of outfit.

The Eid

Eid al-Adha or "Festival of Sacrifice" is an important religious holiday celebrated here to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son. As an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead. The meat is divided into three parts to be distributed to others. The family retains one third of the share another third is given to relatives friends and neighbors and the other third is given to the poor & needy.

We bought a lamb along with our friends and had the blessing of giving away the meat to some of our close friends in need. Dear husband and his friend were there and happy to be apart of it all. I thought it best that I stay home with the girls as my stomach does not take to this type of thing so well. If yours is like mine scan past my pictures. :)

The New Bed

Four year old was very pleased to get into her new BIG bed. She loved how she finally had lots of leg room after a few years in her toddler bed. As you can see she takes after her Daddy in the long leg department. She'll be turning five this next week. Why do they have to grow so quickly? Can we not make it slow down some how?

Anyone remember Mr. T?

Wadi Rum

We spent a day and camped the night in Wadi Rum. It's a breath taking spot where you forget all about the city and enjoy the views and red sand. The largest wadi in the country and also the spot where "Lawrence of Arabia' was filmed.

I said I'd never camp here till the kids got older but that all changed when dear husband said "Hey let's go for it...so we lose a nights sleep it'll be fun"...and he was right it was fun and we did lose a night's sleep. :)
We went with our friends and all our kids. 8 kids four and under! It was a blast and made for great memories.
