More summer fun

Tuesdays we do a fun art. We enjoyed Q-tip painting last week and then this week Five yr old wanted to paint eggs:)



Wednesdays is Water day so we can fill our little pool and splash around to keep cool

Another great Daddy devo. moment

I had to go out early before bed time routine the other night. When I got home I found my living room made into a refuge. :) Daddy does have the most fun devotionals.

Mommy Group

Thankful for my fellow young Mom friends. We meet every Monday morning for coffee while kids play together...we have good conversation and enjoy each others company.
This past week we were smaller in numbers but still enjoyed our time together at the park.

Maqluba

We host a lot of local friends in our home. It's not easy to make food like the women do here. This culture is so hospitable and kind. Yet I still find it can be rather scary to entertain them. They love it when we try to make the food they enjoy and they are more comfortable eating what they are used to. So before Ramadan hits and we have a stream of guests. I thought it was high time I learn to make some more arab dishes. Here I am trying my hand at Maqluba. A layered egg plant, potato, chicken and rice dish.



You make in one pot then turn it upside down. Thus the name 'maqluba'. .

Oozi

Best way to learn how to make the food here is to ask a local to make it in front of you so you can watch how many pinches of this and that goes into the food. It was fun to make Oozi with my friend and then we enjoyed eating it when we were done.

Daddy's Day

We celebrated Father's Day by going with our friend Hez to Umm Quais. It over looks the Sea of Galilee. It was fun to hike around a bit. Daddy took the opportunity to talk about some Bible stories that took place by the Sea right where we were standing. Wow what a cool thing to grow up so close to these amazing spots.
Then home for some 'pault' and presents. We are thankful for the wonderful Daddy God has given us.

So thankful for my Mom. A life lived well with strong faith. A wonderful example to me in many ways over the years. Loving,giving and always caring for others. Puts her kids and Grandchildren first. Proud of you and could not ask for a better Mom.
